Isaac
A talking skull sitting on John Blake's desk at the time of Master and Student. He acts as the narrator of the story, providing an effective Watson, though he tends to go into irrelevant digressions on the nature of magic at times.
His family is listed in a conversation with Miss Fotheringale]], in which his surname is given as Corbett:
- Uncle Erasmus (great uncle); previously knew Fotheringale; died over 200 years ago
- Father - Also a skilled mage
- Patrick - Isaac's son, and a fine young man
- Nathan and Roderick - Patrick's sons. Not interested in magic.
- Luke - the wastrel, Nathan's son. Drink/gambling problems. Sold or lost Isaac's skull.
